CHUN HUI PAK began studies in the late 1970's at Indiana University and later at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she received a Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) in 1984. She continued her studies at the Yale University of Art where she received a Master's of Fine Arts (MFA) in 1986. In the mid-1990's she studied Digital Art and Print making at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan.
Pak is a recipient of a number of grants and awards, notable among them being the 1998 Creative Artists Grant from the State of Michigan, and the Best of Show award at the 1999 Michigan Fine Arts Competition which took place at Birmingham-Bloomfield Art Center in Birmingham, Michigan.
Pak taught painting, drawing and art history courses as an adjunct to her painting. Her teaching assignments came from several colleges and universities including the University of Michigan, Oakland Community College, Henry Ford Community College, Indiana University Northwest Campus, and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Pak actively participates in exhibitions, including a recent solo exhibition at the Sherry Washington Gallery, group shows in Detroit, Chicago 1999, and Toronto in 1996, and a solo exhibition in Chicago in 1997.
Pak performs volunteer work as a member of the Board of Korean Community Liaison for the Friends of Asian Art in Detroit, Michigan. She served as a Board Member for the Korean American Women's Association of Detroit Metro Area, and President of the Korean American Artists of Detroit Metro Area in Michigan. She also served as an Exhibition Committee for the not-for-profit Detroit Focus Gallery where she organized "Looking to the Far East": an exhibition of Asian American art perspectives.
